Hey guys,
So i have on my hands a HUGE decision to make and i just don't know what to do!!
Next week we have to pick our subjects that we will be doing for our leaving cert (ahhhh). Not only will these choices affect how i do in my leaving cert and if i get into college or not its going to affect my Career and life! I want to do veterinary nursing when i leave school so i really really really really want to go UCD college. When making our subject chooses we are given a piece of paper and we write i 1-4 list of option subjects we want to do. out of these 4, we can only do 3 for our leaving.(its kind of like voting). i have decided my 1 and 2 as biology as chemistry, but as my number 3 i am so tied up on whether i want to do art or technology !!.
I have to do maths English Irish and Spanish so these 3 options are my own in decision making. And i have done everything and i mean everything to try and help me choose.
- I have gone to talks about the subjects at leaving cert and i have borrowed books to see what the work is like.
- i love both subjects with a passion and i love the teachers that teach them too.
- I have flipped a coin and lost the coin so ill take that as a sign that gambling faith wont help me....
- I got the same grade in each subject in my junior cert state exams so i have the same ability in both.
I have done EVERYTHING and i DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO !!!
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME !!
Hey guys!
So we are just after comming back into class from taking our class and student photos. For the first year ever i actually taught mine turned out well! we normally take them in 1st year, ty, and 5th year and the difference in how much we have changed is shocking! all the girls looked so lovely standing out in the morning sun (which is a rare for ireland) and im so happy i dont have my breaces anymore from my 1st year photo. When each girl was going to get their picture taken i really remembered how much i love my class and im going to be sad in September when we are mixed up into our 5th year classes.
Hey everyone
So i have been a bit of a bad student lately... i have gotten so caught up in my Ty adventures that i forgot to blog about a very very important topic we did in religion class back in December. We watch a film about an African girl who grew up in Africa and grew up with its cultures. Her name is Warris Dirie. In The Film young warris like all the other girls in Africa is "cut" as part of her marriage culture. Warris makes a difficult decision to run away from her life and family when she is forced to marry a man who she does not love. When warris comes to England she learns about all the new cultures and is discovered by a famous photographer. This is the point in the film when warris discovers that normal woman in the developed world are not "cut". From this point on warris's story is told to the world and she makes it her mission to get this cultural "cut" so that girls around Africa can live a comfortable life and never be looked down on if they are not "cut|.
This film really spoke to me because i never realised the Lenghts cultures in different country's went to in developing country's and how painful the sacrifice's women made just to make them selves worthy for men. an yet we are still the most unluckiest race in the world ?
Taught id get everyone into the christmas mood by posting a picture of our christmas tree :)
only 7days till everyone is stuffed like a turkey with a delicious christmas dinner, till familys and friends share thanks and love, till we make more great memories, till the cheesey jokes from christmas crakers are tole and till little children are running aroound with their new gifts from santa :) hope santa like our tree
Hey guys,
so even tho in we are our in t.y we still have Christmas exams like the rest of the school, ive been trying to study all weekend but all i can see are a thousand words in English, Irish and Spanish that will not stay inside my empty head! you think after a hard year of nothing but study for the junior cert last year my mind would be trained to abstain some kind of knowledge.....but sadly not.
Im praying a Christmas miricale will help pay off my hours of literally hitting the books
Hey guys,
So last week the T.y's went out on our first week of work experience ! we grow up so fast :') I went to Troytown equine hospital in the curragh and the only words i can use to describe my week are WOW i did so much and now i know that i am 100000% sure that i want to be a veterinary nurse when i am older. I got up (unwillingly) at 6:30 every morning and left my house at 7:10. We picked up my friend who was also working 10minutes away from my work placement. I arrived in the curragh at 8:15 and i started work at 8:30 each day. Getting up so early had its perks tho! the curragh is also a famous race course and every morning at the crack of dawn we saw jokeys and their horses raceing along the tracks, it was so cool ! Right getting on to what i actually did. I really felt like a professional vet because i got loads of hands on experience. I was introduced to my co-workers on my first day and then each morning we mucked out stables, gave the horses ne water, food and a good TLC grooming session.( the horses kept stealing the brushes and kissing our faces it was really funny) As the week went on i got to assist in a surgery, it was mind blowing ! i wore all the scrubs and face masks, i got to see them kock out the horse and i was right next to the head surgeon during the whole surgery(thank god im not squemish because i saw everything inside the horse and we did get sprayed with a little bit of blood.). I got to M.R.I a horse ! i never knew you really could M.R.I a horse because they are so big, but let me tell you it was no easy job! we had to put the horse to sleep to keep him still while the machine got to work. Each hoof took 56mins to M.R.I but the horse kept moving his feet and everytime we had to start again. The process ended up taking 3and a half hours ! but it was worth it because we helped the sick horse back to health.
I had so much fun i learned a bucket load and in the future i would love to go again ! the staff were so so so so nice !
