The snow is not falling but the chances oh me passing my christmas exams are
Hey guys,
so even tho in we are our in t.y we still have Christmas exams like the rest of the school, ive been trying to study all weekend but all i can see are a thousand words in English, Irish and Spanish that will not stay inside my empty head! you think after a hard year of nothing but study for the junior cert last year my mind would be trained to abstain some kind of knowledge.....but sadly not.
Im praying a Christmas miricale will help pay off my hours of literally hitting the books

Schools out ! roll on the life of work
Hey guys,
So last week the T.y's went out on our first week of work experience ! we grow up so fast :') I went to Troytown equine hospital in the curragh and the only words i can use to describe my week are WOW i did so much and now i know that i am 100000% sure that i want to be a veterinary nurse when i am older. I got up (unwillingly) at 6:30 every morning and left my house at 7:10. We picked up my friend who was also working 10minutes away from my work placement. I arrived in the curragh at 8:15 and i started work at 8:30 each day. Getting up so early had its perks tho! the curragh is also a famous race course and every morning at the crack of dawn we saw jokeys and their horses raceing along the tracks, it was so cool ! Right getting on to what i actually did. I really felt like a professional vet because i got loads of hands on experience. I was introduced to my co-workers on my first day and then each morning we mucked out stables, gave the horses ne water, food and a good TLC grooming session.( the horses kept stealing the brushes and kissing our faces it was really funny) As the week went on i got to assist in a surgery, it was mind blowing ! i wore all the scrubs and face masks, i got to see them kock out the horse and i was right next to the head surgeon during the whole surgery(thank god im not squemish because i saw everything inside the horse and we did get sprayed with a little bit of blood.). I got to M.R.I a horse ! i never knew you really could M.R.I a horse because they are so big, but let me tell you it was no easy job! we had to put the horse to sleep to keep him still while the machine got to work. Each hoof took 56mins to M.R.I but the horse kept moving his feet and everytime we had to start again. The process ended up taking 3and a half hours ! but it was worth it because we helped the sick horse back to health.
I had so much fun i learned a bucket load and in the future i would love to go again ! the staff were so so so so nice !

A Blast From the past making history
So yesterday a man came to give us a talk on the history of Celbridge our home town. Little did i know it was Mr.Doohan !! my old primary school principle giving the talk !! when i walked into the library my face lit up as he was the perfect for the job as he has great passion for the history of our town. I Remember when we were in 6th class and he used to bring us on cycling tours of the village and the legendary castle town house.
Anyway as we sat down and he begun i learned many many Fascinating things about our home town. Did you know Arthur Guinness the man who invented Guinness was born in celbridge ? amazing i know ! and the man himself who named new york, new york was from celbridge. i never knew how so many great people and great things came from celbridge and there are so many more other facts about the fammine. I'm so proud to be from celbridge <3
the book Mr.doohan wrote about our great town.

Encore Encore !!
HEY everybody I'm back as promised and I have my verdict from our English day out ( DUN DUN DUUUUUUNNNN!!!) and I am lost for words to describe how great the day went !so we Left the school bright and early on Wednesday morning, buzzing with excitement as we stepped onto the bus. our first stop was at the W.B Yeats exhibition in the national Library kildare street and i can honestly say I've never been more prouder to be Irish in my life ! he such an inspiration to poetry and as we walked around in awe and wonder of his life's work I felt as if he was right in the room with us.
this is my most favourite poem by Yeats, The Wild Swans At Coole
this is my most favourite poem by Yeats, The Wild Swans At Coole
THE trees are in their autumn beauty,
The woodland paths are dry,
Under the October twilight the water
Mirrors a still sky;
Upon the brimming water among the stones
Are nine-and-fifty Swans.
The nineteenth autumn has come upon me
Since I first made my count;
I saw, before I had well finished,
All suddenly mount
And scatter wheeling in great broken rings
Upon their clamorous wings.
I have looked upon those brilliant creatures,
And now my heart is sore.
All's changed since I, hearing at twilight,
The first time on this shore,
The bell-beat of their wings above my head,
Trod with a lighter tread.
Unwearied still, lover by lover,
They paddle in the cold
Companionable streams or climb the air;
Their hearts have not grown old;
Passion or conquest, wander where they will,
Attend upon them still.
But now they drift on the still water,
Mysterious, beautiful;
Among what rushes will they build,
By what lake's edge or pool
Delight men's eyes when I awake some day
To find they have flown away?
The woodland paths are dry,
Under the October twilight the water
Mirrors a still sky;
Upon the brimming water among the stones
Are nine-and-fifty Swans.

Next on our tour was to the greatly awaited National museum where we saw BOG BODIES ! and i must say mud dose wonderful thinks to keep skin looking so... Preserved for years and years. I was amazed at how detailed there bodies where even if they were hundreds of years old. i couldn't take my eyes off them even when other girls were screaming with disgust.
These are some pictures of the bog bodies (beware some have lost most of their limbs from being turned to susi by turf machines >>
Our final stop was the créme de le créme of the day !! we went to see Juno and the paycock in the abbey theathre ( co insedently set up by WB Yeats) And wow it pulled on my heasrt strings !! even tho we had read and studied the play in school i was shocked in some scences and crying in the horrible scene where johnny is dragged away by IRA poor poor johnny !!! be fore i go a quick pic of the george johnny ! <3
sorry in a rush bell is about to go , be continued ..... bye F

standing ovation for an exciting occasion
So tomorrow as part of our T.Y’s English programme we will be visiting a W.B.Yeats gallery (big fan of the man I must say), a Bog body gallery in the national museum ( cant wait to see how many years mud can take off your face even if you are thousands of years old. ORGANIC ALL THE WAY!) And finally the crème de le crème we are going to see a production of Juno and the paycock!! We have been studying the drama by the brilliant and Irish writer Sean O’Casey about living in tenement life and how close poverty can bring a community together :) (So sweet) and also it will be in the Abbey tether which I’ve never been so that will be a great memory.
So im buzzing like a be for the moment be back to blog on Thursday about how it goes

Educating essex is educating wolstans.
Today in religion we watched a show from england online. It was called educating essex. It fitted hand in hand with international friendship week as the show is a docctumentary about school life and how bullying is dealt with.
In the episode that we watched we were shown two cases of bullying. The first one started with a girl called gaby, she was a high achieving student who had just became head girl. Her friends began to be jealous of her and then gaby started to recieve mysterious texts invading her privacy. But quickly and camly the sitiuation was dealt with and all was well again in essex :)
the next case was poor missunderstood sam. He wasnt the brightest of his bunch but sam still kept himself in school. Sam is a joker and finds it funny to call another guy fat but when it all gose to far his girlfriend is the only girl who can really get trough to sam.
heres a link so you too can learn as much as we did about educating essex > http://www.channel4.com/programmes/educating-essex/episode-guide/series-1

Get ready world cause our mini company idea will be the new light in your life! After hours of distractions and mindlessly drawing on our worksheet we finaly came up with a list of ideas for our mini company.
- You turn me off (light switch) Have you ever gotten into bed and fofgotten to turn off your light ? no theres no more need to trow your shoe at the light switch cause our amazing new device will turn it off for you with the simple click of a remote (deadly right ?)
- Fake flower power ! have you seen in movies where they have a hidden house key in a fake rock for when your locked out ? well in ireland if you dont have a garden full of rocks we have the new Fake flower power ! its a flower pot with a fake flower that you can place innocently in your garden that is really a secret key keeper. no more climbing trough windows or being stranded till someone comes home ! :)

The Carlingford adventures of Rambo and Pdogg
Hi
All summer we have been looking forward to starting T.y but one of the most exciting parts of T.y is going to carlingford in co. Louth :) Words could not come to mind how excited we were... we brought more food then clothes ! I taught waking up at 5:45 in the morning would be an impossible challenge but it was really trying to fall asleep that was the hard part! After 2 hours of messing on a double Decker bus we finally arrived in carlingford and we were not alone there was also a boy’s school staying in the adventure centre.
The best part of the first day was playing Laser Tag! We all had guns with names and mine was Rambo ha-ha running trough the forest trying to kill each other was defiantly a good way of bonding. After laser tag we played team challenges to build our trust ... we were blind folded and one girl had to guild us like sheep into a corral with out talking or moving, I unfortunately ended up walking straight into a fence but everyone was in stitches laughing so I guess it made us closer haha. Laser tag and challenge games made a person reallyHungary I don’t think I ate a dinner so fast in my life. After dinner the place turned into a jungle as we were given our rooms. everyone was rushing to stay with their friends in the limited 10 and 12 bedrooms but to our luck my friends and I ended up getting our own house with Ms.o'C :) that night we had a singing competition with the guys school, I think its safe to say the girls are more musically talented !
After sleeping like a log in our cosy house the next day we started with rock climbing and absailing it was soo fun. For a bit more of a challenge we decided to climb up the wall blind folded it actualy made it alot easier to climb! the absailing was a bit scarey going over the edge at the start but once we got going i felt like i was a spy climbing down the a cliff. oringtearing was next on our list after the strenght used to climb the massive mountain for oriantearing we got off to a great start :) we got really hyper and started running up and down the side of a mountain. we even had a speacialy word to say when we found the letters everyone was so confused when 4 girls were going arounf with a mao shouting ELEPHANT ! oh my god at one point we nearly wet ourselfs laughing, one of the letters was on the back of this masive bolder and i had to run up and get it but i wasnt alone... a giant ram was waiting on the other side !! nearly running head first into his horns i got the letter and dashed back to the girls. he became our fluffy best friend. getting broed with the sheep on the mountain we decided to start singing while leapracon hunting ! i was great craic but we eventualy finished the course and had to make our way back to the centre and oack for home.
we were wrecked on the way home and we all fell asleep ! but i will never forget our amazing time at carlingford ! a speacial y qutoe for meg's me ... I CAT EAT BANANAS UNLESS THEY SMELL NICE :P
