Schools out ! roll on the life of work

Hey guys,
So last week the T.y's  went out on our first week of work experience ! we grow up so fast :')  I went to Troytown equine hospital in the curragh and the only words i can use to describe my week are WOW i did so much and now i know that i am 100000% sure that i want to be a veterinary nurse when i am older. I got up (unwillingly) at 6:30 every morning and left my house at 7:10. We picked up my friend who was also working 10minutes away from my work placement. I arrived in the curragh at 8:15  and i started work at 8:30 each day. Getting up so early had its perks tho! the curragh is also a famous race course and every morning at the crack of dawn we saw jokeys and their horses raceing along the tracks, it was so cool ! Right getting on to what i actually did. I really felt like a professional vet because i got loads of hands on experience. I was introduced to my co-workers on my first day and then each morning we mucked out stables, gave the horses ne water, food and a good TLC grooming session.( the horses kept  stealing the brushes and kissing our faces it was really funny) As the week went on i got to assist in a surgery, it was mind blowing ! i wore all the scrubs and face masks, i got to see them kock out the horse and i was right next to the head surgeon during the whole surgery(thank god im not squemish because i saw everything inside the horse and we did get sprayed with a little bit of blood.). I got to M.R.I a horse ! i never knew you really could M.R.I a horse because they are so big, but let me tell you it was no easy job! we had to put the horse to sleep to keep him still while the machine got to work. Each hoof took 56mins to M.R.I  but the horse kept moving his feet and everytime we had to start again. The process ended up taking 3and a half hours ! but it was worth it because we helped the sick horse back to health.
I had so much fun i learned a bucket load and in the future i would love to go again !  the staff were so so so so nice !
